Great River Energy owns the 24-mile “KA-SL” 69-kV transmission line in Kandiyohi and Meeker counties. The line was built in the early 1950s and due to its age and condition needs to be replaced. The outdated switch structures on both ends will also be replaced. Great River Energy’s rebuild will follow the existing transmission centerline. Generally, the existing line follows roadways with a few cross-country portions. Minor alignment changes may be discussed with individual landowners.
