Steven Johnson was recently announced by the Itasca-Mantrap Electric Cooperative board of directors as the cooperative’s new president and chief executive officer.
Johnson, who began his duties Dec. 2, succeeds Christine Fox, who retired after 10 years with Itasca-Mantrap.
Johnson has more than 25 years of experience in the electric cooperative industry, serving most recently as chief executive officer of Yampa Valley Electric Cooperative in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Prior to his time there, he served as operations manager for Meeker Cooperative Light and Power Association in Litchfield, Minnesota.
“I’m excited to be joining the team at Itasca-Mantrap and relocating back to my home state of Minnesota,” Johnson said. “I’m honored to lead this cooperative into the future and honor the cooperative’s reputation. I am humbled to carry this legacy forward.”
