Great River Energy + trade partners = success!

At Great River Energy, we’re proud to support your success! That’s why we partner with our member-owner cooperatives to establish innovative programs that work with our HVAC trade partners.
Sign up for quality installation training
Great River Energy, in partnership with our member-owners, is hosting quality installation trainings to prepare technicians and contractors for the quality installation assessment. The training is designed to get an understanding of the quality installation program administered by Great River Energy and Xcel Energy, to prepare for the exam, ask questions of the trainers who administer the study guides and exams, and get an overview of rebates and incentivized electric rates for the equipment. We’re holding sessions around Minnesota in September. Registration is capped at 40 participants per event. Breakfast and registration will begin at 7:30 and training is from 8-10am. Becoming a certified Quality Installation Contractor is simple!
Contractors who want to participate in central air conditioning and air-source heat pump programs must pass an assessment demonstrating their knowledge of quality installation practices. Contractors can take one assessment free of charge. Contractors need to register to obtain a link to the free assessment, as well as a user name and password.
Quality installation – HVAC partners
Your Quality Installation (QI) Certification shows that you’re an installation professional who really focuses on energy, so customers can have confidence that their HVAC unit is installed to the highest energy efficiency quality standards. It also allows your customers to qualify for significant rebates – a point of difference that you can leverage to boost your sales.
Rebates for central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps are based on SEER rating and qualified installation and vary by cooperative. In order to be eligible for a rebate, members must work through a qualified contractor, and contractors must register in order to offer rebates from electric utilities on central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps.
