Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric (SWCE), based in Owatonna, recently announced the retirement of General Manager Syd Briggs following more than 17 years of dedicated service to the cooperative and its members.
With Briggs’ retirement, SWCE transitioned to a shared leadership model beginning July 1.
Goodhue County Cooperative Electric General Manager Kelly Hovel will now lead both cooperatives, bringing 18 years of industry experience and a strong background in cooperative leadership. Hovel had been actively engaging with SWCE’s board of directors and team for the past several months.
This approach reflects a continued commitment to collaboration, innovation and delivering value to member-owners.
