Cooperative Light & Power names new CEO

The Cooperative Light & Power (CLP) board of directors recently announced Joel Janorschke as the electric cooperative’s new chief executive officer/general manager.

“We were very fortunate to have three excellent candidates for the position,” said Board President Scott Veitenheimer. “The board unanimously agreed that Joel had the experience, knowledge and skills that would be the best fit for CLP. We are excited to have him join our team and we have full confidence in him to help us face any challenges in CLP’s future.”

Janorschke has 29 years of experience within the electric cooperative industry. His professional experience includes positions as general manager, operations manager, design engineer, maintenance line foreman and light construction line foreman.

Janorschke comes to CLP from Traverse Electric Cooperative, where he held the position of general manager for the last five years.

“My past roles have equipped me with the experience, knowledge and skills necessary to communicate effectively with all employees and build strong relationships within departments to serve the membership effectively,” Janorschke said.
