Integrated Resource Plan - Great River Energy

Great River Energy Resource Plan

Great River Energy’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) provides a comprehensive view of our resource plans for the next 15 years. The plan represents our intent to reliably meet our members’ energy needs in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. Our preferred resource plan continues to position our power generation portfolio toward a lower-carbon future and includes additional wind generation. Our plan continues to rely on energy efficiency and conservation measures. It also highlights our innovative electrification and grid modernization initiatives.

Great River Energy filed an interim integrated resource plan (IRP) update on April 1, 2021, with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) outlining the cooperative’s future power supply portfolio changes.

Great River Energy will file an additional interim report with the commission in October 2022 and file a complete IRP in April 2023.
