In a special meeting on Aug. 1, Great River Energy’s member-owner cooperatives approved the agreements required for Crow Wing Power to exit membership in Great River Energy.
Crow Wing Power’s withdrawal from membership in Great River Energy will be effective Jan. 1, 2025, subject to expected approvals from MISO and Crow Wing Power’s lender, the Rural Utilities Service.
Starting that date, Great River Energy will provide transmission service to Crow Wing Power through a customer contract. Great River Energy will continue to own, plan, build, operate, maintain and contract the transmission system necessary to provide Crow Wing Power with transmission and ancillary services.
Great River Energy will also provide short-term capacity through a separate agreement.
