The peregrine falcons that reside in Great River Energy’s Elk River nesting box hatched four young falcons in early May.
The eyasses will not receive bands this year as the Raptor Resource Project is not conducting falcon bandings due to the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza outbreak.
To date, the falcons in the Great River Energy nest box appear to be healthy. The young falcons will remain in the nesting box until they begin to fledge at five or six weeks old.
