Clinics offer a local Twins experience for youth

Youth across the state will get firsthand experience learning the fundamentals of baseball and softball right in their own neighborhoods this summer through a partnership between Great River Energy, the Minnesota Twins and the Twins Community Fund.

Created in 1961 by longtime Twins scout Angelo Giuliana, the Play Ball! Minnesota youth clinics offer an opportunity for participants ages 6-13 to pitch and hit with guidance from knowledgeable coaches in an encouraging atmosphere. No experience with the sport is required to participate.

The baseball and softball clinics will be held throughout Twins Territory, which overlaps with the service areas of Great River Energy’s 27 member-owner cooperatives — seven of which will play the role of host or co-host in their communities:

Beyond providing members with affordable and reliable electricity, electric cooperatives work toward the sustainable development of their communities. This includes volunteering time and resources; donating funds to local nonprofits; and building strong communities through the support of events such as the Play Ball! youth clinics.
