Great River Energy proposes to construct a new overhead 115-kV transmission line and breaker station that is needed to provide electric power to a new petroleum pump station being proposed by Enbridge Energy.
This project is cancelled due to Enbridge Energy’s route change.
Structure: Wood poles, some specialty poles may also be required
Right of Way: 100-foot-wide right of way, 50 feet on each side of the centerline
Voltage: 115 kV
Spans: 350 to 400 feet apart
Energization: Fall 2019
Length: 13 to 13.5 miles, depending on options
Permits: The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission must issue a Route Permit before the project can proceed
An Administrative Law Judge hearing will be held by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission at 6 p.m. on May 5, 2016, at the Waukenabo Town Hall.
Representatives of Great River Energy and Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative held an open house meeting Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the Waukenabo Town Hall and provided information about the proposed project and listened to feedback.
