A Great River Energy line technician, was recently recognized for his efforts when he acted quickly and decisively to save a dog’s life last October.
Ralph Skoglund was working with crews in Moose Lake, Minn., near a newly-installed roundabout when a car pulled over and a very frantic woman jumped out holding a small dog. She yelled, “My dog’s not breathing.”
Skoglund approached the woman, took the dog from her and started to resuscitate it. He was able to clear the dog’s airway and save its life.
The woman was extremely grateful Skoglund acted decisively and without hesitation to help her and her dog.
For his actions, Skoglund received Great River Energy’s Good Neighbor Award. This award is presented to employees who act decisively in an emergency.
