The Lake Country Power (LCP) board of directors recently named Mark Bakk as general manager of the 43,000-member rural electric cooperative that serves northeastern Minnesota.
Bakk will be charged with the responsibility to lead the not-for-profit utility on its mission to deliver safe and reliable electric service, manage member resources wisely, and serve to help local communities prosper.
“The board is very confident with Mark’s abilities and professionalism,” said Craig Olson, LCP board president. “He is well-known, respected and well-liked by his peers in the co-op industry. He will serve our membership well.”
A 12-year cooperative employee, Bakk has held leadership and managerial positions within the finance and administration department, serving as the department head since 2012.
Bakk replaces General Manager Greg Randa who will retire Jan. 8, 2021, after 41 years of serving the cooperative.
