Great River Energy named Mark Fagan the cooperative’s vice president and chief business development officer. Fagan will be responsible for identifying new business and asset optimization opportunities and supporting the corporate strategic and business planning process.
“The way we produce and consume electricity is changing dramatically,” said Great River Energy president and CEO David Saggau. “Mark will serve a critical role in fostering innovation, improving efficiency and discovering new and better ways to serve our members.”
Fagan most recently served as vice president of risk and generation at Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, the largest generation and transmission cooperative in Texas. During his five years with Brazos Electric, Fagan oversaw grid compliance, environmental health and safety, contract administration, insurance, enterprise risk management and human resources, as well as the operations and maintenance of three power generation facilities.
Fagan returns to Great River Energy where he previously spent more than 11 years serving in several positions, including business development manager, enterprise risk manager and resource planning manager.
“I believe that Great River Energy’s business development and strategy division is well-positioned to lend support and leadership as our organization develops its next round of strategic planning, and I am looking forward to help lead that process,” said Fagan.
