At Coal Creek Station, students were taken through a series of stops where they learned about various jobs and responsibilities, and participated in several hands-on activities.

“The experience was very valuable for our students,” said Brandt Dick, superintendent of the Underwood School District.

During lunch, students received information on careers in the energy field, education requirements for those careers and scholarships available from Great River Energy.

“As an adult, I didn’t realize the variety of job opportunities Great River Energy offered. One thing that really stuck out to me is how all employees emphasized it is a great company to work for,” said Sheila Schlafmann, superintendent of Turtle Lake-Mercer Public School.
