Celebrating 10 years of Keystone membership

Great River Energy was recently recognized as a 10-year member of the Minnesota Keystone Program.

Great River Energy is a corporate citizen that believes in supporting the communities it serves — even beyond its business purpose — and is celebrating 10 years of membership in a group that both recognizes the co-op’s giving efforts and encourages other businesses to do the same.

Great River Energy is a member of the Minnesota Keystone Program, which promotes corporate philanthropy by acknowledging and honoring companies that donate at least 2% of their pre-tax earnings to charitable organizations. The program’s purpose is to sustain Minnesota’s spirit of generosity and sense of community.

Great River Energy was recognized during a Dec. 13 event for a decade of participation in Keystone Program.

A bulk of Great River Energy’s charitable giving is done through our two corporate contributions teams. Minnesota contributions generally focus on the areas where we live, work and serve. In North Dakota, contributions focus on communities within Oliver, McLean, Mercer and Stutsman counties.

“Through all of our community giving efforts we try to achieve the greatest good for the greatest number of our members, employees and communities,” said Daniel Becchetti, leader of communications at Great River Energy. “We are proud to join other like-minded companies that invest in the sustainability of the communities they serve.”

There are currently 180 members of the Minnesota Keystone Program, including businesses like Target, the Minnesota Vikings, Ecolab and Land O’ Lakes.
