Great River Energy proposes to build and operate approximately 8.75 miles of new 41.6-kilovolt (kV) overhead transmission line in southern Otter Tail County to provide power to the new Lake Region Electric Cooperative distribution substation.
Transmission line length: 8.75 miles
Voltage: 41.6 kV
Structures: Single wood poles
Span length: 280 to 400 feet apart
Right of way width: 70 feet, 35 feet on each side of the transmission line.
Permits: US Army Corp of Engineers, MN Department of Natural Resources, Otter Tail County Highway Dept.
Representatives of Great River Energy and Lake Region Electric Cooperative held an open house meeting on Feb. 23, 2016, at the Maine Township Hall and provided information about the proposed project and listened to landowners.

Originally scheduled for Winter 2016 to Spring 2017. Due to permitting delays, construction timeline is to be determined.
