Chevy Bolt to make Midwest premiere at Twin Cities Auto Show

Revolt logoGreat River Energy is proud to welcome enthusiasts to the Electric Room at the 44th Annual Twin Cities Auto Show held March 11-19 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Electric Room will feature the latest technology in plug-in electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, including Chevrolet’s newest Bolt EV – Motor Trend’s 2017 Car of the Year.

“There is no question that electric vehicles are the future and their innovations are expanding by leaps and bounds each year,” said David Ranallo, leader, member services and marketing and Revolt program manager. “Forecasters are calling this ‘the iPhone moment’ for electric vehicles because of the effect technology improvements and decreased costs will have on market adoption and the 34 makes and models that are expected to hit the market in the next three years. We are so proud to bring the latest in renewable solutions to Twin Cities Auto Show attendees and show them how an electric vehicle might fit into their lifestyle.”

Revolt, a first-of-its-kind program that allows member-consumers of Great River Energy’s 28 member cooperatives to upgrade the electricity used to fuel their vehicles to wind energy at no additional cost, plays host to the Electric Room and will be prominently featured.

The Electric Room will also give visitors the first look at a Chevrolet Bolt in the state of Minnesota. The Bolt is the first affordable long-range electric vehicle with an EPA-estimated 238 miles per charge. It goes from zero to 60 mph in under 6.5 seconds and comes with a 100,000 mile or eight-year warranty. The starting cost is $29,995 after the federal tax credit is applied.

MN Plug-in Vehicle Owners’ Circle, one of the biggest and most active regional PEV groups in the United States, will have their members available in the Electric Room to answer questions and provide more information about driving electric in Minnesota.
