Standby and Supplemental Services

Description

Standby and supplemental services are applicable to an all-requirements member cooperative of Great River Energy with a retail customer who has an eligible on-site distributed generation system (DG System).

Standby Service

Standby service provides backup capacity and energy to an all-requirements member when an eligible customer’s DG System is unavailable to supply the customer’s load requirements.

Supplemental Service

Supplemental service provides capacity and energy to a member with an eligible customer who has a DG System that is insufficient to meet the customer’s total electrical load requirements under normal operating conditions.

Reservation Fees

Great River Energy shall charge the member a monthly reservation fee equal to the fee specified in the table below multiplied by the customer’s Contracted Standby Demand (CSD) specified in the Electric Service Agreement (ESA) for either firm or non-firm standby service.

Usage Charges

Wholesale capacity, energy, transmission, ancillary services, energy and power cost adjustment charges are not included in the Monthly Reservation Fee and will be applied in any month that standby or supplemental service is used.
