Power Plants:
Our 2,800-megawatt generation system comprises an effective
mix of base load and peaking power plants, including coal, refuse-derived
fuel, natural gas and oil plants, as well as wind generation.
Standby Rates:
Standby and supplemental services are applicable to an all-requirements member cooperative of Great River Energy with a retail customer who has an eligible on-site distributed generation system. |
|
Renewables:
As Great River Energy continues to grow, our new power
generation will include more environmentally sound renewable energy sources.
Our power sources already include wind energy, refuse-derived fuel and
hydropower. We are looking at ways to further diversify our energy portfolio
by exploring biomass, fuel cells, clean coal and other technologies as
they become available.
